4th of July in Nashville

    Nashville is one of the top destinations for the 4th of July. From the fireworks show to rooftop parties to incredible live music, it’s hard to beat the fun in Music City on Independence Day. Let Freedom Sing: Nashville July 4th Fireworks @ 5th and Broadway & Ascend Amphitheater | Downtown Music City celebrates July 4th in downtown Nashville with live music and a huge fireworks show. Join in on the fun on Thursday, July 4, 2019, with FREE concerts at 5th and Broadway and the Nashville Symphony performing at Ascend Amphitheater during the fireworks show. The site opens at noon. There will be live performances by Brett Eldredge, Mac McAnally, Jessy Wilson, and Dylan Scott.There will also be kid-friendly activities and vendors during this free event.

    CMA Music Festival 2019

      Get ready country music fans—it’s almost time for Nashville’s most beloved music event, the CMA Music Festival. The event is Thursday through Sunday, June 6-9, 2019, in Downtown Nashville, and attracts about 80,000 locals and tourists for one weekend of country music lovin’.

      Happy Preservation Month

        The District Nashville has supports outstanding efforts to preserve Nashville’s historic architecture. For the month of May we celebrate National Preservation Month, which is a national campaign that honors the country’s diverse and irreplaceable heritage by encouraging people to celebrate the places that are meaningful to them and to their communities.

        NFL Draft In Nashville

          The 2019 NFL Draft is coming to Nashville from Thursday to Saturday, April 25-27, 2019. Lower Broadway and the areas around Nissan Stadium will host free, public activities throughout the weekend. This is the NFL’s largest festival footprint ever created for the draft.

          Family and fans of all ages are invited to the free three-day football festival held at Nissan Stadium. There will be interactive exhibits, immersive games, virtual reality experiences, a player autograph session, and more.

              Garth Brooks Loves Honky Tonks! Garth Brooks’ brand new single, “All Day Long,” was born out of his fondness of playing honky-tonks. It’s been many years since Garth has played that circuit on a regular basis, but he had occasion to do so one night earlier this year in Nashville, and the memories came flooding back. The air was beer-soaked and electric when Garth Brooks strolled into Layla’s Honky Tonk on Lower Broadway in February. It was late at night when Brooks took the stage for the invite-only show, and he spent well over an hour rolling out his biggest hits for the intimate audience. The stage was tiny and so close to the audience that fans could reach out and touch the superstar at any time. They shouted out requests, he obliged, and by the end of the set, he had an idea.                 The District to award Steve Buchanan

                  At this year’s Progressive Party, The DISTRICT will recognize Steve Buchanan with the 2015 Spirit of The DISTRICT Award. The award is presented annually to a person or persons who have made a significant commitment to the vitality of Downtown Nashville Steve Buchanan is President of Opry Entertainment Group. Buchanan oversaw the renovation of the Ryman Auditorium, the Wildhorse Saloon and brought Opry Originals retail store to Broadway.
